Family Regulation & Reproductive Rights in a Post-Dobbs World

SisterSong defines reproductive justice as the human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, & parent the children we have in safe & sustainable communities. This info session will first examine how the family regulation system (often referred to as the “child welfare system”) contributes to the policing of primarily low-income BlPOC families, targeting them for surveillance & separation. Next, we will discuss NY’s work to protect & expand abortion access in a post-Dobbs world, including recently enacted policies and the work that remains to be done this legislative session.
