The Impact of Family Support on Child Safety: Right-Sizing CAPTA Funding to Better Protect Children

On October 23, 2023, Children's Rights, the Congressional Research Institute for Social Work and Policy (CRISP), and Repeal CAPTA hosted a congressional briefing to emphasize the urgent need to right-size federal child welfare policy and funding to better protect children and support their well-being. Panelists discussed the positive impact that responsive family and community resources have on the health, safety, and stability of children and how the current financial structure of the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) permits ineffective and harmful outcomes for children.
